Katya abelsky biography

After 12 years in show business, Katya Abelsky of Murrieta has retired to pursue a different career on an equally dramatic stage: the courtroom.

Katya, 18, graduated last month from Murrieta Valley High School with a 4.2 GPA and a ticket to Berkeley to attend the University of California in fall.

She will major in political science and hopes one day to be a prosecutor or, using her show business background, an entertainment attorney.

“It was really a fluke,” Katya said of her first gig.

“My uncle, Jayme Escobedo, was one of the original Bad News Bears and, as a result, his daughter wanted to be an actress as well.
